With the Ethiopian telecom market now open to the private sector, we are collaborating for infrastructure sharing.

We have a strong focus on accessibility and enhanced customer experi­ence. We have been introducing affordable products and services and ex­panding our 4G and 5G services within and beyond the capital, making sig­nificant tariff reductions of up to 86%, and driving smartphone adoption. This has brought high-speed internet access to millions and made connectivity more affordable than ever.

In 2022, we introduced telebirr, the first operator-led mobile money service in Ethiopia, which has since offered a range of digital financial services. It marked a significant step in digital financial inclusion, particularly for under­served and unserved communities.

As we work towards creating a digitally transformed country, our focus ex­tends beyond connectivity alone. We are driving the digital transformation of Ethiopia by implementing a wide range of initiatives, playing a pivotal role in building the nation’s digital economy.
